This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a top 10 European Pharma companies at Global HQ level in Switzerland and lead the organisation's Outsourcing activities as part of its Clinical Research group.
Responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
-Lead the CRO/Central Lab/Reference Lab and Speciality provider selection process (on a study-by-study basis) under guidance and supervision of Local Head
-Deliver excellent value for the organisation (cost savings, cost reductions) whenever possible
-Assist Clinical Teams in definition of work specification and also in some cases actually define the work specifications including the amendment scope
-Assure CROs/Central Labs/Speciality Providers are always delivering to a high level of quality
-Responsible for negotiation of multi-million dollars contracts under guidance and supervision of Local Head
-Negotiate contract terms, pricing and payment schedule, ensuring that the agreements with the CROs/Central Labs/Speciality Providers are commercially advantageous to the organisation under guidance and supervision of Local Head. Lead & negotiate more routine agreements directly. Develop milestone payments for CRO/Reference lab and Speciality Provider
-Minimize regulatory, legal, and financial risks under guidance and supervision of Local Head
-Produce final contracts/amendments and secure all necessary company approvals under guidance and supervision of Local Head. Be the control point for SOX compliance
-Manage ongoing CRO/Central Labs/Speciality Provider collaborations (business conflicts, issue resolution, project status, adherence to budget, periodic provider appraisals, etc.).
-Deliver quality contracts through close collaboration with functional partner such as legal, Finance, QA, and functional lines under guidance and supervision of Local Head
-Support initiatives related to departmental objectives
-Train Clinical Teams in outsourcing activities
-CRO Lab Managers contribute to Protocol Design Meetings, when applicable.
Minimum requirements:
-Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
-Languages: Fluent English - Oral and written
Experience/Professional requirement:
-Basic understanding of the clinical development process and sound understanding of clinical management.
-Experience in Drug Development in Pharmaceutical Industry or with a Central Lab/Speciality Services Provider desirable.
-Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
-Basic understanding of contracts (including basic legal understanding of terms and conditions).
-Good financial understanding (understanding of cost drivers for clinical trials) as it relates to contracts and cost reductions.
-Excellent written and oral communications skills, excellent negotiation skills.
-Strong problem solving skills.
-Demonstrated willingness to make decisions and to take responsibility for them.
