Our client is an innovative molecular diagnostics company. Based in London, they require a molecular biologist to join their expanding team.
The successful candidate will work on a team to develop DNA chemistry, sample preparation, and amplification for a cutting-edge, in-vitro diagnostic device.
Candidates will possess the following:
Experience with working in industry is required, including working on projects towards deadlines and tangible deliverables.
You should have an appropriate educational qualification such as a Masters or PhD degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or biotechnology or equivalent
Broad-ranging practical experience with standard molecular biology techniques is required, at the level of experimental design and interpretation at a minimum. These include
DNA/RNA amplification (required)
enzymatic reactions (required)
primer/probe design (required)
gel electrophoresis (required)
RT-PCR (desirable)
genotyping (desirable)
sequencing (desirable)
cloning (desirable)
A track record of successful communication and teamwork is required.
General good laboratory practice is required
Experience with planning and managing your own experiments is required.
Experience with development for diagnostic device applications or diagnostic kit applications is highly desirable.
Experience in diagnostic assay development or simplification of laboratory workflow is highly desirable
Experience with analytical and clinical validation studies is desirable
