Pfizer has gained recognition for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions, the company said.
The drugs giant has been praised by the US Environmental Protection Agency for the results it has achieved under its Energy and Climate Change programme.
Pfizer has reported a reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions of 43 per cent per million dollars of revenue from 2000 to 2007.
"As the largest research-based biomedical and pharmaceutical company, we have a responsibility to act proactively on environmental health issues," said Natale Ricciardi, president of Pfizer Global Manufacturing.
He continued: "We hope to increase awareness and encourage others to do the same."
Meanwhile, Pfizer has invited investors, the media and members of the general public to view a webcast of an analyst and investor meeting at 18:00 Pacific Daylight Saving Time on October 28th.
