Johnson and Johnson dental products 'improve plaque removal'

07 Apr 2009

Clinical Research

Studies of Reach Ultraclean toothbrush and floss have found that the products deliver superior plaque removal.

The trials, which were conducted by Johnson and Johnson Healthcare Products, showed that the floss removes up to two times more interproximal plaque than Crest's Glide Original Mint, Deep Clean, Whitening Plus Scope, Comfort Plus and Shred Guard.

Another study of the Reach UltraClean toothbrush found that it eradicates 90 per cent of the bacteria in places that are hard to reach and improves gum health compared to Colgate 360 after 30 days of use.

"Through innovative design and unmatched cleaning technology, we continue to help patients achieve cleaner, healthier mouths," says Sylvia Santos associate director of research and development at Johnson and Johnson Consumer and Personal Products Worldwide.

Meanwhile, Astra Tech, an AstraZeneca company, has announced that it has reduced turnaround time for its Atlantis abutments and is now able to offer the product to North American dental patients within a day.
